T-Minus ..... fuc...

Yeah so if your like a majority of the current player waiting to get back on the FFXI servers, your probally going though the same process that I'm going though. That process is the following:

#1 Come home from a long day at work.
#2 Enjoy a good meal from my lovely wife(Exclude Tidis from this since he is gay.)
#3 Watch my son kick my ass on Dragon Ball Z(Then go Super Sayian irl and pummel him with couch cusions.)
#4 Send my wife to work(Thank YOU nightshift!)
#5 skip to the PC room..( Yes I skip dammit... don't hate.)
#6 Start up PoL and wait for the loud ass music.
#7 Watch as it does nothing and I get an error.
#8 /sadface
#9 Try to log on again just to make sure that it wasn't a random error.
#10 /sadface again.
Final Step: Sit and stare at the monitor for the next 30 mins trying to figure out what to do. This may include FFXIAH.com, BG, Windower.net and what ever else bits of FFXI you can get ahold of.

For those of you that feel the same way as I do, I feel your pain.. The ones that don't... STFU.. I have issuses... I know...

Funny thing is that I was really debating on switching servers or fully quitting for good. That was when I COULD access the game.. Now it's like.. MUST PLAYYY!!.. I mean hell I might even be willing to do a run or two of Dynamis.. . . Maybe.

There was a post on the FFXIAH.com forums about what would happen if the servers never come back up. I honestly don't know. I know what I would miss. Like the friendly wave I get from past SoV members that have moved on to new linkshells. The voice of some of the people on vent.. (Omit lynde from that list.) Oh and even the people that let me give them the ever growing amounts of hell and never seem to get mad.. Yes Tidis and Dier I'm talking to you. But most of all,the people that has moved on. The people that I never get to see of get stuff done with. The adventures I had with each and everyone of them will forever be remembered.

Toprob, my british clone. The only person I've ever seen that could tell me what I was thinking. I met him though a mutual friend, Yokorye, during her Dagger WSNM quests. After that we were brothers in war!We duoed so many things that weren't supposed to be duoed with a pld and Whm. We finished all of ZNM,Cop,ToAU and most of WoTG missions before he finally quit. I remember all the nights we stayed up untill daylight(GMT) to get stuff done. You truly were the brother I never had.

Tetsuiga, the person the pushed me to be better. I met him though Swordman with Aristocratls. Sword's Arc-enemy/brother, Tet was always pushing the envolope to become stronger and make sure he was the most powerful in the LS. His laugh will always be with me.. even more so after he would kill, Top,Myself, or Sword after getting one of us charmed. He is the person that started my obsesion with damage. Tet was always a reasonable person that you could always count on to have a cool head.

Swordman. The alterego of tet. A hot headed little twit that was most random person I think I've ever met. His power and just the straight forward-in-you-face play style is what was the driving force behind my leveling Blm and then Drk. Even though he was moody and could get aggrivated quickly, he was like the little brother of the group. No matter how mad at him you got, you could never stay mad.

Luvaril, This is the person that intruduced me to ballista. even though he never quit made it past level 60, he was one of the funniest blm I've ever seen. I remember back in level 40 cap Ballista hitting him in the back with a holy bolt and hearing him go splat. I love the way a Taru dies. Luv is somewhere in college I hope. He quit before ToAU came out. One of the first of my friends that quit, but by far the funniest.

Probally the person I would miss the most, if I quit/or the servers didn't come back up, would have to be someone that has always thought of everyone else first. Someone that never says no to helping people out. No matter if she hates what she is doing. She does it with a smile. One of the nicest people that I have ever met, even though I give her hell, I would miss Allyrose the most. She is the "Mother" to most the people that was in SoV and the people that is still in AC even if she wont admit it. She goes above and beyond even with little rewards. I hope her rl son knows how good he has it. If not I'll be happy to trade mine for her lol.

Now that I've went of the deep end. my twich has settled down a bit. maybe I wont go home and check PoL untill tomorrow. .... then the /sadface will come back.

  1. I don't expect FFXI to be back up until April. Funny you mention switching servers since we've thought of it as well but now even when the game was on we weren't really playing. But...there are some things we want to do so...but I think Bey would find out where we lived and kick our ass or something lol.

Is it a bad sign that I haven't really thought of FFXI that much other than worrying about what's going on over in Japan? I'm glad you still want to play though man. I remember talking to you about it and it sounded like you could just get up and stop playing.

Kinda wish I got to know Top more since you mentioned it...when joining AC I was gonna annoy the shit out of him with War questions but he ended up leaving shortly after I joined.

As for the servers not coming back up...well IF that were to happen, I think I would be doing the same thing I'm doing now. People I would miss...some I wouldn't...but probably a little guilt into not making that many connections to ppl on this game as I did with Everquest:OA. Just the way I am...
